B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Université Laval (2008).
M.Sc. from Université Laval (2010) in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec under the supervision of Dr. Dimcho Bachvarov. My research was aimed at identifying biomarkers for the early detection of epithelial ovarian cancer through the identification of hypermethylated tumor suppressor genes.
Since 2011, I have been working as a research professional in the group of Dr. Derome at Université Laval in the department of Biology. Using Next-generation sequencing (NGS) we study the interactions between the microbiome and the host. We aim at understanding and predicting the contributions of the endogenous microbial communities to the host biology.
In January 2024, I joined the Gobeil Lab in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Bioinformatics as a research professional to gain new expertise in protein production and structural biology.
I’ve always been interested in using new cutting-edge technologies to unravel the mysteries of DNA and RNA to achieve our scientific goals. By joining the Gobeil Lab, this curiosity now extends to proteins and how they mediate cellular functions through interactions.
